I’ve seen a similar ‘shoe stamping machine’ used in a musical way when I watched BOT perform live last year in Amsterdam, but not in such a clean setting as with Les Souliers, created by Arno Fabre.

They play together with crazy noise making machines engineered by Geert Jonkers, and together with third band member Job van Gorkum this results in an energetic musical experience.

Were as robotic instruments on themselves can still be quite static, controlling these instruments with technology, and combining the result with live instruments certainly creates a more lively image on stage.
